Rhino Reforestation’s camps are comfortable with all necessities provided.

Our food is excellent and we cater to all diets. In addition, we provide drying tents and a heated eating tent fully equipped with a planter fridge.

We pride ourselves in maintaining our equipment, keeping it in excellent condition. We use new crew cabs and vans where access allows. At Rhino Reforestation, there is no such thing as ‘downtime’ due to poorly maintained gear.

What planters need to bring for camp living:

Sleeping Accommodations

  • Tent, trailer, camper, vehicle
  • Warm bedding, including a soft surface – foamy or cot
  • For tents, it is ideal to have a ground sheet and tarp for changing weather conditions

Clothing:

  • Rain gear
  • Protective hat for all weather types
  • Clothing – lighter in colour
  • Several pairs of socks
  • Work boots, caulks and hiking style boot
  • Camp shoes – typically running shoes or flip-flops
  • Planting gloves

Personal Items:

  • Day pack to contain daily gear
  • Eating utensils
  • 4-5 litre water container
  • Sunscreen & hand cream
  • Insect repellent
  • First aid equipment
  • Alarm clock
  • Flashlight
  • Duct tape
  • Note pad, pencil
